Localized contouring is different from weight loss
These procedures are designed for cosmetic changes in selected treatment areas. They do not meaningfully reduce total body weight, treat visceral fat, reverse metabolic disease or substitute for nutrition, activity and medical obesity care.
Cryolipolysis
Cryolipolysis uses controlled cooling intended to reduce a small amount of subcutaneous fat in a treated bulge. Response varies and may require more than one session. Possible complications include pain, bruising, numbness, cold injury and paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, in which the treated tissue enlarges rather than shrinks.
Muscle-stimulation technology
Magnetic-field or electrical muscle-stimulation devices trigger muscle contractions and may temporarily improve tone or firmness in selected areas. They are not a shortcut to major weight loss or guaranteed abdominal definition. Pacemakers, implanted devices or metal in the treatment area may be contraindications.
Who may not be suitable?
Suitability depends on the device and treatment area. Relevant considerations may include cold-related disorders, hernia, pregnancy, implanted devices, metal, previous surgery, reduced sensation, skin disease and medicines. The device-specific contraindication list must be followed.
No result is guaranteed. Benefits may be modest or temporary, and complications can occur. This service is cosmetic body contouring—not obesity treatment.
